It was on December 11, 1940 that Donna Mills was born as Donna Jean Miller. The woman who would become a great actress was born in Chicago, to a marketing researcher father and a dance teacher mother.

For her education, Donna started at Garvey Elementary School before moving to Taft High School. Thanks to her talent, the actress was able to move faster than she should have in her upbringing.

Starting in high school, she pursued graduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she studied acting before leaving to pursue a career as a dancer, following in her mother’s footsteps.

It was in 1966 that she made her film debut when she appeared in Secret Storm which was a soap opera. After that, she made her film debut with The Incident the next year.

She continued in different productions until 1980, when she landed a role that would change everything for her and make her more popular. And that was the Landing Knots, which remains her most significant role as Abby Cunningham.

She continued to appear in many TV shows and movies and her last action was in 2015, when she participated in Glee. Also in 2015, she starred in 12 Christmas Presents which was a holiday comedy-drama.

During her years as an actress, Donna Mills appeared in over 70 films and TV shows in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Despite her best efforts, the woman has various nominations and awards to present. For Landing Knots, Donna has 4 nominations and 3 awards all from the Soap Opera Digest Award and for the “Villainess Outstanding: Prime Time” category, except for the top award which was given to Outstanding Actress in a Role lead in a primetime series. She got all four nominations between 1986 and 1989.
