Ghanaians must join NDC to save Ghana in 2024- Adam Abdul-Fatawu

Adam Abdul-Fatawu Wunizoya, the aspiring Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC for the Sagnerigu Constituency in the Northern Region, has urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the reorganisation exercise currently being conducted by the NDC to assist in removing the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power in December 2024.

The ‘Northern Governor,’ as he is commonly known, stated that the only way to redeem Ghana from the current hardships experienced by Ghanaians was a change in government, and that the only way to accomplish this was for people to register their names and join the NDC as the only option.

“I would like to appeal on all Ghanaians, especially those who care about their nation, to join the NDC, which is the only way to save this country from the agony Ghanaians are experiencing today,” he stated.

His call occurred after he toured the district to observe the registration of new members at a few branches.

He stated that while the registration numbers were encouraging, more effort was required to convince them why they should join the NDC and not another party.

“Even though Ghanaians are suffering, we (NDC) still have the responsibility to explain to them why they should join our party as the only alternative,” he said.

In order to contribute effectively to the exercise, he urged party members, especially those at the regional level, to visit the branches periodically to observe how the activity is being conducted.

He praised the party’s leadership for launching such an attempt to help develop the party’s database.

“This is not merely a registration exercise; it is an activity to compile a database for the party so that in the future, we can determine the strength of our membership in each constituency and region, and for that, I commend our leadership,” he said.

The opposition NDC began reorganizing its membership in order to strengthen the party’s standing for the 2024 elections.

The exercise, which commenced on May 21 and is scheduled to conclude on June 7, 2022, is the first stage before the party’s branch, constituency, regional, and national executive elections.

According to the NDC, the internal battle will begin on June 15, 2022 with the election of branch executives.

The branch elections will be closely followed by the elections for Ward coordinators, slated for August 2022, and constituencies, scheduled for September of this year.

According to the party, the regional and national conventions will be held in October and November of 2022, respectively.
