Mr. Edward Ennin, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Obuasi Constituency, is urging New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Ashanti Region to reject Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, during today’s regional delegates’ conference.

According to him, he regrets voting for Chairman Wontumi because he lacks the administrative skills necessary to oversee and direct the party’s regional issues.

He stated that Chairman Wontumi has shown to be a failure throughout the years.

Mr. Ennin warned that if the delegates do not show Chairman Wontumi the door, they will conduct their own campaign in the region’s several constituencies.

Mr. Ennin told the delegates that if they make the mistake of retaining Chairman Wontumi, he will operate alone in the region.

He urged them to disregard some of the financial overtures made by Chairman Wontumi’s campaign staff.

“Wontumi’s administration in the region has exacerbated the region’s divisions,” and his “belligerent behavior is the primary cause of the region’s divisions.”

In addition, he stated that Chairman Wontumi’s propensity for loose speech has hindered the regional progress of the party.

He believed that the Chairman is ready to flaunt his money when everyone is whining about how difficult things are.
