TN: Six killed on Salem highway as truck collides with minibus

Chennai, Sep 18 (IANS) Six individuals were killed in a street mishap on the Salem-Chennai thruway at Pethanickenpalayam on Sunday morning.

The mishap happened when a truck smashed into the Omnibus that was left out and about at 12.30 a.m.

The departed were distinguished as Omnibus inhabitants T. Thirunnavakarasu (61), his better half Vijaya (59), his child Ravikumar (47), family members T. Senthil Velan (42), Subramani( 41), and Dheepan (27), the cleaner of the transport.

Tirunavakkarasu and his relatives were on way to Chennai to go to the pubescence capability of his granddaughter. Another relative Jayaprakash (41) experienced different wounds including cracks and is going through treatment at a confidential emergency clinic in Salem.

Vazhapady Representative Administrator of Police, N. Shwetha while addressing media people said that Tirunavakkarasu was stacking every one of the materials expected for the capability in the capacity region of the Omnibus, and the cleaner, Dheepan was helping him when the truck slammed into the rear of the Omnibus.

The DSP said that Tirunavakkarasu, Deepan, Ravikumar, Subramani and Senthil Velan died on the spot while Vijaya experienced grave head wounds and was taken to the clinic where she was proclaimed brought dead.

Salem locale authority, S. Karmegam, Administrator of Police, Sri Abhinav, and other senior officials visited the mishap spot.

Police has sent off a manhunt to follow transporter who is fleeing.
