The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, issued a press release on Friday, July 1, 2022, stating that President Akufo-Addo has authorized the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta to initiate formal negotiations with the IMF, urging the Fund to assist a government-developed economic agenda. However, help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) comes with limitations.
According to the Ghanaian media celebrity Nana Aba Anamoah, despite everything, free SHS has provided assistance to the majority of the impoverished.
Even though she disagrees with some of the administration’s actions, free SHS is a positive development.
Nana Aba concluded that the IMF should not interfere with free SHS.
